SCRAPBUSTER BEGINNER QUICK SEW

Do you have a drawer full of fabric scraps that are too small to use but too cute to toss? Don't despair! Those tiny 5x5 inch pieces are perfect for whipping up a batch of adorable cord keepers. Not only will this easy sewing project help you tame the cord chaos in your life, but it's also a great way to use up those leftover fabric treasures. In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the simple steps of creating these practical and stylish cord keepers. So grab your sewing machine, gather your scraps, and let's get stitching!

Start with a 5 x 5 inch fabric scrap. Each 5 x 5 inch scrap will make 1 cord keeper.

Fold the fabric square in half. Iron along the fold. Once there is a crease, cut carefully along the crease so that you have two 5 x 2.5 inch fabric scraps. You will use one fabric for the top and one for the liner. If you have multiple fabric squared, you can mix and match fabric patterns.

Stack both pieces of fabric. On the top fabric, trace each corner with a round item like a fabric weight. Cut along the tracing line through both pieces of fabric to create rounded corners.

With right sides together, sew around cord keeper leaving a small opening for turning (as indicated by the black dashed line).

Flip fabric to right side, iron, and topstitch around entire cord keeper.

Attach plastic snaps on each side of the cord keeper.

Use your new cord keeper to keep cords organized.
